Abraham Pether 1756-1812

Initially Pether trained to be a professional musician but turned his talents to painting becoming a pupil of George Smith. Pether exhibited at the Royal Academey from 1784. He lived a good deal of his life in the Soho area of London.

Pether interesting saw himself as an inventer and engineer however little is attributed to him.

 

Sebastian Pether 1790-1844

Son of Abraham Pether a pupil, like his father he is famed for exceptional moonlight scenes. He also painted volcanoes erupting.
